Madison, USA – The World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) has awarded the 2021 Digital Growth Award to the KAYA Payment Platform.
KAYA Payment Platform is offered by the Philippine Federation of Credit Cooperatives (PFCCO) and the National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO), together with the Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU). KPP is a mobile app that allows co-op members to transact anytime, anywhere, and is available also thru ATMs, Point-of-Sale, and Over-the-Counter.
World Council of Credit Unions’ Challenge 2025 goal is the digitization of the global credit union system.
Today’s members require digital service channels and local payments ecosystem interoperability for convenience and – as the COVID 19 pandemic has shown – to alleviate health and safety concerns.
Digital transformation is necessary to credit union sustainability and resilience.
World Council recognizes member credit union association and individual member credit union digital initiatives with Digital Growth Awards.
National co-op associations are awarded for achieving significant
digital progress in extending the number of credit unions providing mobile channels, integration into the local payments’ ecosystem and implementation of share digital platforms. Individual credit unions are
recognized for digital transformation and innovation with significant resulting benefits for members.
KAYA Payment Platform offers Digital Financial Services as an emerging FinTech. Still, it will have the advantage of a well-known, established footprint of its member cooperatives as service outlets, merchants, and even utility providers. More than that, the KPP embodies the cooperative values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity, and solidarity.
